IMAX Rises 3.1% After ETF Distributor Details Payout Dates

Finvera Editorial Team··move recap

IMAX rose 3.1% on Aug 24, 2026 after Hamilton Capital Partners Inc. published an update outlining upcoming cash distribution details for its Hamilton ETFs.

What Hamilton announced

Hamilton Capital Partners Inc. released information on anticipated cash distributions for Hamilton ETFs for the period ended August 31, 2026. The firm said distributions may vary from period to period.

For the monthly-distribution ETFs that trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange, Hamilton said the ex-dividend date is anticipated to be August 31, 2026, for unitholders of record on August 31, 2026. The company said those distributions will be paid in cash, or—if a unitholder is enrolled in the dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP)—reinvested in additional units of the ETF, on or about September 8, 2026.

Hamilton also referenced separate semi-monthly distribution ETFs that trade on Cboe Canada Inc., with anticipated ex-date, record date, and pay date shown in its tables.

What it means for Hamilton

This update is essentially a scheduling and mechanics note: it tells investors when distributions are expected to go “ex,” who qualifies based on the record date, and when cash (or reinvested units via DRIP) is expected to arrive.

By laying out the timeline across both monthly and semi-monthly products, Hamilton is standardizing expectations around payouts and reinvestment. The mention that distributions may vary from period to period also reinforces that these payments aren’t fixed.

The DRIP option highlights an alternative to taking cash—automatically rolling distributions into additional ETF units—which could appeal to investors focused on compounding rather than income.
