SMXT Falls 4.1% After Nasdaq Flags Late 10-Q Filing

Finvera Editorial Team··move recap

SolarMax Technology (SMXT) fell 4.1% on Aug 21, 2026 after the company said it received a Nasdaq notice tied to a delayed quarterly filing.

What SolarMax Technology announced

SolarMax said it received a notice from The Nasdaq Stock Market on August 20, 2026 stating the company is not currently meeting Nasdaq’s continued listing requirements. The issue is a missed deadline: SolarMax has not filed its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Under Nasdaq rules, the company has 60 calendar days from August 20, 2026 to submit a plan to regain compliance, which SolarMax noted would run through October 19, 2026. If Nasdaq accepts that plan, Nasdaq can grant an exception of up to 180 days from the filing’s due date, which SolarMax said would be February 16, 2027.

What it means for SolarMax Technology

A Nasdaq notice like this is essentially a formal warning that the company is behind on required reporting. The immediate task is procedural: SolarMax needs to get current on its Form 10-Q and, before that, submit a plan that Nasdaq is willing to accept.

If Nasdaq accepts the plan, SolarMax would have a defined window to work through whatever is holding up the filing. If it doesn’t, the company could face additional listing-related pressure, since the notice is tied directly to continued listing standards. Either way, the announcement puts the spotlight on timing and execution around financial reporting.
